SUNDAY 23RD OF JULY, 2017
TOMBS OF THE KINGS, 20:30
(Duration: 60 minutes)

BRIDGING LIFE & DEATH

● Under the light of the full moon and drawing inspiration from the exhibition Life of the Dead, the project ‘Bridging Life and Death’ is an unusual tour through the archaeological site of the Tombs of the Kings.
In these majestic graves, the silence of the dead is perceived as music accompanying life, through relevant artistic performances. This unique tour will be concluded in the third emblematic tomb where Timotheos Stylianides (who is also the curator of the event) will be performing a guitar recital, while you can also enjoy a storytelling performance by Maria Andreou. The mysticism of the performance will bridge ancient themes with universal realities related to life and death. Through music and performance, human creativity intervenes in the necropolis with works directly related to death not just as a fait accompli or a tragedy, but as a determining factor in the affirmation of life.
