COMMON GROUNG
Presentation of the artistic dialogue – and more – between children of the two communities in Pafos and Kyrenia, through the documentary of Sylvia Nicolaidou and Nicolas Iordanou. The artists watched the proceedings of workshops and recorded the creation of a bridge between the children, through the art of Cementography. Learning this by far Cypriot art, the children jointly created their works, using materials (clay and stone) from the other side of the barricade. Naming their works A day from the life of Kyrenia and A day from the life of Pafos, children make up a cementography based on the daily life of a town, which they have never visited. The responsible person for the Kyrenia project is Bahar Chirali and Miriam Mc Connon is the curator of the programme.

A WALK IN THE MUSEUMS: From Vaitylo of Palaipafos to Voufa of Pafos
The European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 organises a two-day event of tours in archaeology and time, attempting to bring out the long history of culture and tradition through the link between Palaipafos and New Pafos. The two tours attempt to create a network and a route that will redefine the relationship of the public with museums and will reinstate them in the landscape as integral and natural parts.
On May 19th at 19:30, after the tour in the urban core of Pafos, there will be a music event at the Ethnographic Museum with the tenor Michalis Georgiou.
Free entrance
We would like to let you know that the seats are full for the tour on Thursday 18 of May. Make your reservations early, as limited seats are available for Friday.

Friday 19 May 2017, LEMONA – Village Square 20:00
THE CORNER OF A FOREIGN FIELD
An artistic happening, which is a cooperation of Lia Lapithi with Nic Costa, ended in a documentary about the symbiosis of foreigners and locals in Pafos: a group of residents, intellectuals and creators, attempt to access issues relevant to the prospects and the possibilities of a harmonious coexistence in a multicultural and highly Cypriot environment. Lemona, a hilly village with plenty of greenery and surrounded by beautiful landscaped hills, was to be loved by many travellers who have chosen to make it their second home. In the spirit of Louis Bunuel’s film, the artist Lia Lapithi sets up an open-air feast with a group of foreign inhabitants of the area. The feast was filmed, making this the main material of an audio-visual project which has travelled, and still travels, to various festivals and biennales all over the world. A second celebratory meal will take place at the village Square, while, at the same time, the film produced in 2015 will be screened at the local school.
