• The European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 and the Municipality of Pegeia present the authentic and diverse rhythms of Cuban music, from the second generation of the legendary Buena Vista Social Club. The band, of which Pio Leyva was one of its founding members, is led by Luis Frank Arias, a genuine representative of Son Cubano, who combines masterfully the new with the old.
Participating artists: Luis Frank Arias (vocals), Leriosver Moracen Alemani (trumpet), Nicolás Sirgado (bass, vocals), Sergio Veranes (tres cubano, vocals), Querol Aldana (guitar, vocals), Vivo Barrera (percussion) and Fabián Sirgado (congas, vocals).

•The Travelling Stage presents, in a theatrical performance, the poetry of distinguished Cypriot folk poets, that sing the joys, hardships and the passions of love. The poetry texts are performed by Elena Hatziafxenti and directed by Chryso Charalambous.
With the accompaniment of the brilliant musicians Yiannis Koutis, Michalis Kouloumis and Thodoris Ziarkas.

MOVING SCREENS Programme, starts this wednesday at 20:30 in Kathikas village with the American film titled ‘A Good Year’
Description: Based on Peter Mayle’s novel, the film tells the story of a stockbroker travelling to Southern France to sell his vineyard, which he inherited from his uncle. Soon, his arrogant attitude towards the life style of the province changes entirely, thanks to childhood memories but also a beautiful French woman he meets. He will commit to the cultivation of the vineyard, facing all kinds of difficulties… A bittersweet film and a “bright” production on wine, travelling, well being but also the difficulties of a new beginning.

The famous Acordes Guitar Ensemble (with nine guitars and a contrabass) presents a programme edited by Evagoras Karageorgis and Zoi Paisanou-Marcou, with guitar pieces from the Mediterranean, Europe and Latin America, as well as traditional Cypriot melodies adapted by Evagoras Karageorgis. Eleftheria Arvanitaki gives a unique performance of poetry set to music, proving once more how the art of her interpretation can bring out extreme sensitivity, the dynamic of expression and the deep meanings of each individual verse.

The Amalgamation Project balance between the Mediterranean sounds and the Balkan musical tradition, celebrating the richness of polyphony by the female vocal group Amalgamation Choir. Goran Bregovic presents a world of unique sounds and exciting musical performances, confirming his talent to bring contrasting elements together, and what superficially seems not to match. His music, highly influenced by the Balkan tradition, is famous for the brass instruments, the traditional Bulgarian polyphonies, the electric guitar, the traditional percussion instruments and the string instruments.
