Tribute to Russian Cinema
As part of the Cine Attikon programme and the Russian Film Week, three films from Russia will be premiered in the presence of the famous actors Valentina Telichkina and Yuriy Nifontov, and director Karen Shakhnazarov, who will discuss with the audience.The screenings are co-organised and supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Embassy of Russia in Cyprus, the Embassy of Cyprus in Russia, the Association of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Greece and Cyprus “FILIA”, the Cyprus-Russian Friendship Association.

The Spacewalker (2017, 140’)
In March 1965, during the Cold War between the USSR and the USA, there was a harsh antagonism as to who would be the first man to walk in outer space. Anna Karenina – Vronsky’s Story (2017, 138’)
Is there really a single truth in love and in everybody’s choices?
Anna Karenina chose a tragic path, abandoning her family and her son Sergei for the sake of Count Vronsky. 30 years later the two rivals, Sergei Karenin and Alexei Vronsky, meet during the Russo-Japanese war in a remote Manchurian village and attempt to find the answers that both of them have long been seeking for.

The Bolshoi (2017, 132’)
The film tells the true story of a young country girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina. Despite the difficulties and obstacles, she reaches her goal and becomes prima ballerina at the famous Bolshoy Theatre. The film will be presented by actress Valentina Telichkina.
