The Open Air Art Museum of the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017 welcomes another 2 new installations

The European Capital of Culture Pafos2017 presents another 2 workds of the “Signs in Time and Space” project, installed near the Mouttalos’ Caves.

Two art installations of the artist Umit Inatci titled “Cosmic Harmony” (iron and marble) and “Blue Poem” (black iron and laser cut) are now part of the “Signs in Time and Space” project, which literally creates an open air art museum. These two installations as the artist explains, are represented in a dualistic way, which embodies the eclectic coherence of modern man. Their installation at Mouttalos is no coincidence as the artist spend his childhood which marked and inspired him for the creation of the artworks.

About “Signs in Time and Space”

Through the 2014 open call for participation in the programme of the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017, the “Signs in Time and Space” project now leaves its trace and a legacy to the city with installations and sculptures.

The group of artists participating at the project is formed by Yiota Ioannidou, Andreas Paraskevas, Umit Inatsi and Charis Paspallis who have already placed their installations, and also Andreas Makariou, and Dimitris Makariou who will be creating sculptures and artworks in open air venues, giving a new dimension to the concept and philosophy of the open air factory. The project will be concluded in May 2017 with a presentation at the Medieval Manor House in Kouklia and all artworks will be presented at a series of postcards.

The European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 aims to be placed, with this project and others that will follow in 2017, on the map of cities with interesting and attractive landmarks for both their residents and their visitors.
