Luz Casal and Mísia in two very special concerts in Pafos
This year, concerts and music events from around the world travel to open air spaces around the city of Pafos, as part of the programme The Travelling Stage, with the support of CYTAMOBILE VODAFONE. This summer, the European Capital of Culture presents two world-renowned singers, Luz Casal and Mísia, in two very special concerts at the Ancient Odeon and the Castle Square.
Luz Casal, one of the most famous stars of the Spanish music scene, who has released tens of albums and sold millions of records, is a true star of the music world. The renowned singer has been successfully representing her musical tradition all around the world, winning awards and distinctions such as the famous “Goya Award”. She has collaborated with various top artists, while she constantly experiments with new genres. Pedro Almodóvar’s muse, as many call her, counts thousands of fans around the globe. He dynamic presence, her passion, her expressiveness, as well as the intensity and musicality of her voice, promise a concert that will originate from the depths of her soul. Her songs mainly celebrate life and love and are accompanied by an orchestra of great soloists, promising a magical night at the Pafos Castle Square on Saturday, July 29th 2017.
On August 19th 2017, the Ancient Odeon welcomes the famous fado performer, Mísia. She has been hailed as the successor of Amália Rodrigues and a diva of Portugal, however she impresses the crowds with her simplicity and openness. Mísia became known for breathing new life into the forms of fado, and has performed on the most prestigious stages, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Festival d’Avignon, the Ópera National Theatre of São Carlos in Lisbon, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Town Hall in New York, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and Cocoon Theater in Tokyo.
