The Pafos2017 Organisation formalized two important collaborations: a protocol of collaboration for the promotion and selected live broadcasts of Pafos2017 events with the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and an agreement for the evaluation process of Pafos2017, known as the Cultural Barometer, to be undertaken by the Neapolis University.

 

COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF NEAPOLIS

At a joint signing ceremony held at the headquarters of the Pafos2017 Organization on Thursday, January 28 2016, a cooperation agreement between representatives of the Pafos2017 Organisation and Neapolis University was finalised. The agreement calls for the University to undertake the Cultural Barometer survey for Pafos2017, which includes research and data gathering in order to evaluate the impact of the activities of the European Capital of Culture Pafos 2017, on the cultural, social and economic development of Pafos.

The Chairman of the Organization Pafos2017, Dr. Christos Patsalides welcomed the cooperation thanking Neapolis University, stating that the Neapolis University as the University of the city of Pafos plays a decisive role in the undertaking of the Cultural Barometer since it is a tool by which it will evaluate whether the European Capital of Culture objectives have been achieved both in active citizenship, the awareness of society for this institution but also the changing of attitudes.

He also stressed and encouraged the participation of students both on a voluntary basis but also for the opportunity for internships at the Pafos2017 Organisation.

The Vice Chairman of the University of Neapolis, George Leptos, said that the Neapolis University as the highest educational institution of Pafos actively participates in the institution from the bidding period and remains a constant supporter through this agreement and other actions, mentioning the multilevel participation of the University in organizing joint events with the Organisation and the participation of its students.

The University of Neapolis was also represented by Andreas Moleskis, Director of Finance and Administration, Andreas Charalambous, Campus Director, Giorgos Georgis, History Programme Director, Solon Xenopoulos, Dean of the School of Architecture and Geoenvironmental Sciences and Dr Kostas Tsagkaridis Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, who will also be the head of the Cultural Barometer survey. 

COOPERATION PROTOCOL WITH THE CYPRUS BROADCASTING CORPORATION

Given that the title of the Cultural Capital of Europe is an important EU institution, the Pafos2017 Organisation and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation signed a Cooperation Protocol on Wednesday, January 27 2016.

The agreement was reached on the basis of the mutual desire for the presentation and promotion of this high level institution and its cultural content to Cyprus, European and international audiences.

The Pafos2017 Organisation was represented by Dr. Christos Patsalides – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Andreas Hadjithomas, Member of the Board and the Executive Director of Pafos2017 Marina Vryonidou. The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation was represented by Tasos Tryfonides , Chairman of the Board and Costas Nicolaides the Deputy Director.
