‘Eternal Voyages’
Want to be part of ‘Eternal Voyages’ a summer harbour show
as part of the Pafos 2017 European Capital of Culture?
Saturday 1st July 2017, Pafos Harbour (from 8pm.)
Walk the Plank, one of the UK’s leading outdoor arts organisations, will be presenting ‘Eternal Voyages’, a captivating evening performance centred around Pafos Harbour on Saturday 1st July, from 8pm as part of the Pafos European Capital of Culture programme of events.
This unique and dramatic piece of outdoor theatre tells the stories of the 3 travellers arriving in Pafos from the ancient years until the present day. The audience will see projections, high quality digital animation and mapping on the castle wall, accompanied by dramatic moments of performance including poetical text and song, both in English and Greek; dance and mass movement choreography, processional performance, acrobatics, a water spectacle, an original musical score and sumptuous special effects including a pyrotechnic finale. To help make this happen have a number of exciting participatory roles which would suit a variety of people such as performing arts students, community members, aspiring performers or families of all ages from children to grandparents.
We are looking for:
- 100 x participants – to perform in a procession with the Land Traveller character which will start at the Municipal Baths and end at Pafos Castle. Participants will be asked to take part in processional performance workshops with a world class choreographer from Brazil. This role would suit people of all ages and we are particularly looking for families to take part.
Workshops will take place Thursday 29th June.
Onsite Dress Rehearsals: 30th June.
Show: 1st July. Insert the time - 10 x lantern carriers (16 years and above) – will be given the opportunity to work alongside the show’s Artistic Director & production team for rehearsals and show. Performing in this element of the show will give these participants the opportunity to take part in a key moment of the show.
Onsite Rehearsals will take place: 29th & 30th June.
Show: 1st July. - 25 x Flag Bearers (16 years and above) – Flag bearing castle performers will be given the opportunity to work alongside the show’s Artistic Director, taking part in workshops prior to the week leading up to the show. These workshops will give the opportunity for the castle performers to learn new skills and play a feature role within the show.
Castle performers must be 16years and older.
These workshops will take place Sunday 25th June.
Onsite Rehearsals: 28th, 29th & 30th June.
Show: 1st July.
All participants will need to be available from 7pm on the day of the show, July 1st, 2017.

We would like to invite you to a talk about Eternal Voyages and give you more information about each of the roles. This will be a good opportunity to ask any questions and for us to tell you more about the show.
