An art installation of 100 cross-shaped figurines
Within the context of the “Schools in Action” programme of the European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 the Department of Secondary Education and the Office of Art Inspection of the Ministry of Education and Culture organised the art installation “Cross-shaped Figurines”. This is an installation that involves the creation of 100 cross-shaped figurines, sized 1,80×1,05 cm with a variety of materials and styles from high school students from all Gymnasiums and Lyceums of Cyprus, under the guidance of art teachers.
The “Cross-shaped Figurines” outdoor installation is presented from June 16, 2017 until early September, around the Archaeological Park – along the pedestrian street, behind the Medieval Castle of Kato Pafos.
The general supervision of the project was undertaken by: the Visual Arts Inspector Mr. George Gabriel, the Coordinator of the Ministry of Education and Culture Ms Katia Savvidou and the Fine Arts teacher Mr. Yiannos Oikonomou.
