Two years left for Pafos to enter the grand celebration of culture as European Capital of Culture 2017. Two years in which we have a lot to say and even more to do!
Within this year that comes to an end Pafos 2017 has managed to give place to a vast amount of activities and offering a glimpse of the dream to come by taking you on a journey through poetry, music, visual art, artistic creation and cultural endeavors. By building bridges, connecting cultures and strolling through months and seasons, Pafos 2017 places the foundations for our Open Air Factory. All this could not have happened without you and your Passion for Pafos.
The Open Air Factory began from the winter of 2014 to make its appearance with several activities presenting small insights into a world of cultural diversity. A dynamic series of events continued to unfold throughout the summer season to entertain and invite you to enjoy a selection of outdoor performances and events from classical museum, to a sailing Regatta in Peyeia, Ancient greek drama festival in Pafos Odeon, an animation festival in Kouklia, street music concerts in Geroskipou and Pafos town and even an Open Air cinema on Sodap beach.
Pafos2017 Open Air Factory utilised even more spaces and museums in the town and region of Pafos and created impressions and performances. The autumn programme invited you to travel along to the worlds of street dance, opera, classical music, contemporary Greek artists, the Magna Grecia Greek speakers of lower Italy and embodied a Living Heritage at the Ethnographical Museum of Pafos with a rich repertoire of events and activities.
The Pafos 2017 Open Air Factory continues to highlight even more spaces and places in the town and region of Pafos, furthering cultural development through beneficial synergies and collaborative performances. The winter programme invites you to travel along to the worlds of dance, opera, classical and traditional music, contemporary artists and multicultural Christmas festivities and to enter a New Year with a rich repertoire of events and activities. Wander with us as world travellers, via the «Water Routes», and through history, on the way to the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017
